Troubleshooting Alarms & Trips With High-speed Data Capture using the Trender/Trend Recorder Feature Webinar

Speaker:  Joe Clappis, Senior Engineer for MD&A Control Systems Division

High-speed data is very often essential for root cause analysis troubleshooting of turbine operation; once-per-second data is most often insufficient. The emphasis will be on the high-speed data capture capability of the feature for troubleshooting alarms and trips. Exporting data to be analyzed using MS-Excel will also be explained. High-speed GE® exciter data can also be captured using Trender/Trend Recorder. And, this topic applies to any application of Mark VI or Mark VIe (GT; ST; BOP/DCS). If the GE® Mark V HMI uses WorkstationST Trender/Trend Recorder can also be used for legacy Mark V turbine control panels.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Using the high-speed data capture and analysis capability built-in to Mark VI Trend Recorder or Mark VIe Trender
  2. Configuring triggered trends for intermittent high-speed data gathering
  3. Exporting high-speed trend data to MS-Excel
